Although our period for proposing amendments to the leafy green guidance documents (metrics) is currently closed, any comments you may have about these proposes changes will still be accepted through March 31, 2011. You can submit any comments through this website, by email at ssalas@wga.com or by fax at 949-809-6251.

Also, a web discussion is scheduled for April 19, 2011. This is aimed at presenting currently proposed amendments to the metrics and/or comments. This webinar is the last opportunity within the WG’s process to provide any comments or feedback about these currently proposed amendments. After this webinar, a summary of this discussion along proposed amendments and comments will be sent to the technical groups of the Leafy Green Marketing Agreements (LGMA) in Arizona and California for consideration. Proposed language on Issue 14.1 (third bullet)

COMMENT SENT THROUGH EMAIL ON 3/21/11 by Alliance of Technical Professionals

"Mitigation practices by definition make something less harsh or severe. Therefore, valid mitigation practices will by definition have a positive impact on food safety. To avoid misunderstanding, the recommendation will be to remove the proposed phrase “without enhancing food safety”
